I am happiest behind the camera, writing, shooting and editing short films, and photographing the things most people walk past.
I am in Year 13 at Claremont Fan Court School in Esher, taking A-levels in Photography and Film Studies. These are my two passion areas. They are what I spend my time on when nobody has asked me to, and they are what I want to carry on doing.
Photography came first. I won my school's Photography Award in Year 11 for the final piece of my GCSE Gathering study, and the three coursework books behind it are the clearest record of how I actually work: find a photographer who has solved the problem, take their method apart, test it, and then make something that is mine. That method is the thing I would take to a film set.
Film is where I am going. I write, shoot and edit a short film with my cousins every summer, screened to the whole family whether they want it or not. I am drawn to comedy-horror, films that are funny and uncomfortable in the same breath. I spent a week at the New York Film Academy in summer 2026 learning how a production actually runs.
I am applying to study film in the United States for entry in autumn 2027. Directing is the focus, but I want to learn every part of how a film gets made.
